Maria Francavilla

Instructor, RDA, CDA

Maria

Maria grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and knew at a young age that she wanted to work in the dental field thanks to her experiences as a patient. She moved to Tampa, Florida after high school to study with her now husband at the University of South Florida, receiving her Bachelors of Arts in German Studies with an emphasis in Biomedical Sciences. She got her certificate in Dental Assisting Education from Pima Community College, and moved shortly after to Davis, California in 2020. She earned her Registered Dental Assistant license in 2021 and her Certified Dental Assistant license in 2024. With five years of experience in general practices and seeing the range of specialties, her passion for learning more and mentoring others naturally led her back to wanting to be in an educational setting.

In her spare time she enjoys many crafty hobbies, including sewing, painting, and crocheting. Her husband and her have three kitties, Floki, Meeka, and Outback, all of whom enjoy spending time outside with them on nice days while they garden. She stays busy with friends and social events, exploring California through concerts and fairs.
