Orthodontic Assistant Permit-Mobile Course

Dental Board of California Approved-Mobile OAP Course

Our mobile orthodontic assistant permit course is designed to be convenient and affordable for orthodontists who would like their RDA staff members to obtain an orthodontic assistant permit. The lecture portion of this course takes place via zoom; while our doctor and OAP certified RDA will travel to your office location to conduct the laboratory and clinical portions of this course. You may schedule this course at your convenience once registration is complete. This course will provide instruction for up to 6 staff members. *

Students will demonstrate general knowledge of malocclusion, habits, key words and concepts, adult versus adolescent treatment, interceptive care, and types of diagnostic records. They will also practice placing bands, brackets, and arch wires on typodont teeth. Finally, they will conduct orthodontic patient care within your practice, under your supervision. Upon course completion, students will be prepared to take the California Dental Board OAP exam.

Prerequisites:

1. Possess an active Registered Dental Assistant license or six months’ work experience as a dental assistant at an orthodontic dental practice
2. Complete a Basic Life Support course supported by the American Red Cross
3. Obtain a certification of completion in Infection Control and Dental Practice Act

This is a certification course, and attendees are not eligible for CE units per the California Dental Board.
