I became very interested with dental when I was a teenager due to the fact that I had braces and became very involved with my periodic adjustment visits. Each visit I would always ask questions and as my questions were answered it made me more motivated to pursue a dental career.

After I completed my dental assisting program and became an assistant at a pediatric dental office, I soon became very confident that I could do so much more in the dental field. During the three years I was a dental assistant I had learned so much and knew I only wanted to continue growing in this field and learn even more by becoming a hygienist.
The dental field has impacted me in many ways, but the most impactful would definitely be knowing that I am making a difference in helping children's oral health by educating parents on what their child needs. I encourage anyone looking into dental to go for it due to the fact that there are so many routes you can take with it and the amount of help you can offer will not only help your patients but it makes a difference knowing you can help them as well.
